Frequently asked questions

How do I sign in?

Oya Shield uses passwordless sign-in. Enter your email address and we’ll send a 6-digit verification code; enter it to sign in. There’s no password to remember.

How do I log an incident?

From the Incidents tab, tap the “+” button. Add a title, description, date and time, category, and severity, attach a photo if you like, and save. Each entry is timestamped automatically. You can also tap the microphone to dictate what happened, or ask Siri to log an incident.

How do I export my records?

Open Settings and tap Reports. Export Full Record saves every entry and attachment, with the record journal, in one ZIP file, free with or without a subscription. With Premium you can also build a timestamped PDF report of your incidents and expenses to save, print, or share.

How do I share my record with my lawyer or mediator?

Open Settings and tap “Share with a professional.” Enter their email address, choose whether they are your lawyer, your mediator, or someone else, and pick what the share covers. They sign in free at pro.oyashield.com with that address and get a read-only view. Open the share at any time to see its activity or to end access.

How do I lock the app?

Open Settings and turn on App Lock. Oya Shield will then ask for Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, either immediately or after you have been away for 1 or 5 minutes.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple account. To view, change, or cancel, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Oya Shield. Your existing records always remain viewable, even without an active subscription.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open Settings inside the app, tap Account, and choose “Delete Account.” This permanently removes your account along with your incidents, expenses, and attachments from our systems.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your records are encrypted and tied only to your account. No one else can see them unless you share them yourself, as a PDF or as a read-only view for a professional that you can end at any time. We never sell your data, and only the providers that host the service for us handle it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is this legal advice?

No. Oya Shield is a private documentation tool. It does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for a lawyer, mediator, or other professional, and it is not an emergency service. If you or your child is in danger, contact your local emergency services.
